Continuing the trend of celebrating Nepali contemporary music, the Paleti series, a nepa~laya initiative, was organized in nepa~laya’ r-sala auditorium. The March edition of this monthly event featured singer and composer Aavas singing the words of his friend Shrawan Mukarung. The event was divided into two segments—the first featured songs that had already been featured in other events, whereas the second half comprised fresh songs which had never been performed or recorded before. Lyricist and poet Mukarung accompanied Aavas on stage explaining the context and theme of different songs featured in the event. The r-sala saw a full house consisting of musicians and music enthusiasts who were there to witness the musical bond that Aavas and Mukarung share. In the same event, an album containing patriotic songs was officially launched by handing over the first copy of the CD to Mukarung. - Friday Weekly (April 2013)
