About Bhim Birag may have maintained his low profile in the Nepali Adhunik genre in terms of the number of songs he recorded. However his songs have indefinitely reverberated across the Nepali musical horizon touching the lives of many. We at Paleti were fortunate enough to have a personality like him regarded as a confluence of literature, music, and singing to perform with us. He has left behind invaluable creations at the Paleti archive. This album presents some of these great works. In it, Bhim Birag himself has voiced his own compositions previously sung by legends like Narayan Gopal, Prem Dhoj, and many others. It has been several years now since this multitalented personality has left this world. But every time we hear his songs, it feels as if he is still around us, humbly bowed and running his fingers on his Harmonium. Come let us move in closer to him with his own music and voice!

बारेमा नेपाली आधुनिक गीत–संगीतमा संख्याका हिसाबले भीम विरागको उपस्थिति पातलो रह्यो । तर ती थोरै रचनाको प्रभाव भने नेपाली संगीत आकाशमा कम घनीभूत रहेन । साहित्य, संगीत र गायनका त्रिवेणी भीम दाइसित पलेँटीले सहयात्रा गर्ने अवसर पाउनु हाम्रो अहोभाग्य थियो । उहाँले पलेँटीको अभिलेखालयमा नेपाली संगीतका उच्च सांगीतिक रचनाहरू सुम्पेर जानुभएको छ । तिनै रचनालाई समेटेर हामीले उहाँको स्मरणलाई तपाईंसम्म पुर्‍याउने जमर्को गरेका छौं । यस संग्रहमा नेपाली गायनका स्वनामधन्य गायकहरू नारायणगोपाल, प्रेमध्वजसहित अन्य गायक–गायिकाले स्वर दिइसकेका आफ्ना रचनालाई भीम विराग आफैंले गुन्जाउनुभएको छ ।  बहुआयामिक व्यक्तित्वका धनी भीम दाइले संसार छोडेको दुई वर्ष पुग्न लाग्यो । तर उहाँका रचना सुन्दा हामीलाई यस्तो लाग्छ— अहिले पनि उहाँ हाम्रै समीपमा विनम्रतापूर्वक नुहेर हार्मोनियममा आफ्ना औंला खेलाउँदै हुनुहुन्छ । आउनुहोस्, उहाँको संगीतसित झन् सामीप्य अनुभूति गरौं !
