Sunitaï' musical career dates back to 3 decades. She was just 10 years old when she stepped into this field. According to her, her family, especially her mother, has been her main inspiration to involvement in the musical field.
Her musical talent was polished with teachings from her Lalitpur based guru Krishna Narayan Shrestha. Later composers Gopal Yonzon, her college teacher and composer Ram Thapa contributed in introducing her to the Nepali Music scene.
